WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Floridant -- Johnny Jean-Baptiste, a Palm Beach State College finance professor and founder of NovaTek Business Solutions, announces that his book "From Rural Haiti to AI: How Claude, ChatGPT and AI Assistants Can Change Your Life and Your Business" is now available on Amazon in paperback ($17.99) and Kindle ($9.99). The French edition, "De la campagne haïtienne à l'intelligence artificielle (IA)," is available in the same formats.
The book was published on October 27, 2026, by NovaTek Book Publishing. New one-minute trailers in English and French are now on the book's website and YouTube.
From kerosene lamp to AI
Jean-Baptiste grew up in Gaspard, a village in northwest Haiti with no electricity, where he studied by kerosene lamp. He spent six years out of school, finished high school at 26, moved to Florida in 2004 and learned English in his mid-thirties. He went on to earn three bachelor's degrees from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, worked as a banker at JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, and has taught financial management at Palm Beach State College for more than a decade.

Without being a programmer, he later built a working business app with the help of AI assistants. The book tells that story and shows readers how to do the same in their own lives and small businesses.
What readers will find
The book is organized in three parts named in Haitian Creole:
It ends with a 30-day plan readers can start right away. The book is independent and is not endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI.
"I wrote this book for anyone who thinks AI is not for them," said Jean-Baptiste. "If a boy who read by kerosene lamp can use these tools to build a business and write a book, so can a shop owner in Miami or Port-de-Paix."
