SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - Floridant -- South Seas, the iconic 330-acre resort on Captiva Island, has been named Large Business of the Year by the Horizon Foundation, Horizon Council and Lee County Economic Development Office at the 2026 Industry Appreciation Awards.
The honor was announced during the 34th annual Industry Appreciation Awards program on Oct. 23 at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center in Fort Myers, where business and community leaders gathered to recognize organizations and individuals that strengthen Lee County's economy, create jobs and drive innovation.
The Large Business of the Year award recognizes a company with 51 or more employees that has demonstrated exceptional growth in revenue, workforce, products or services over the past three years.
"Being recognized as Lee County's Large Business of the Year is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the dedication of our entire team," said Greg Spencer, president of the South Seas ownership group. "Following Hurricane Ian, we made a long-term commitment not only to restoring South Seas, but to reimagining the resort's future while supporting the economic vitality of Captiva Island and Lee County. This award recognizes the progress we've made and the bright future ahead."
