BRADENTON, Fla. - Floridant -- Board-certified radiation oncologist Dr. Mary Koshy has joined Advocate Radiation Oncology, a locally owned practice with eight locations in South Florida.
Koshy, who is certified in radiation oncology through the American Board of Radiology, has been a practicing physician for more than two decades, including the last 15 years in Florida. She is treating patients in Advocate's Bradenton cancer treatment center.
Koshy treats patients with breast, prostate, lung, head, neck and other types of cancers using a variety of cutting-edge technology, including Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT).
"Dr. Koshy fully appreciates both the science and art of medicine. She thoroughly fits our patient-centric culture where our unrelenting mission is to provide compassionate oncologic care delivered by world-class experts," said Dr. Arie Dosoretz, managing partner at Advocate Radiation Oncology.
Koshy graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University before earning a Doctor of Medicine degree through the University of Florida's College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Emory University, where she graduated as chief resident. She later served as an academic professor at Emory University and Baylor College of Medicine before moving into private practice.

In 2014, the Center for Building Hope honored Koshy with the prestigious Stephen H. Goldman M.D. Keystone Award, which recognizes exceptional individuals for their dedication and contribution to the local cancer community. Koshy has authored and published numerous articles focusing on IMRT and PET imaging, and she is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of Women in Radiology and American College of Radiology.
