TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed two new members to the Hillsborough Community College District Board of Trustees. The newly appointed members are Dr. Michael Garcia and Clay Hollis.
Dr. Garcia is a highly accomplished Surgeon at the Florida Orthopedic Institute. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the medical field, having served as the Chief Quality Officer of Orthopedic Solutions Management. He is also an active member of the First Tee of Tampa Bay Advisory Board. Dr. Garcia holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Florida and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida.

Joining Dr. Garcia on the board is Clay Hollis, who currently serves as Vice President of Tucker/Hall. Hollis has an impressive background in public service, having previously held positions such as Chief of Staff for the Port of Tampa Bay and Director of External Affairs for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He is also a member of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce and holds a bachelor's degree in public policy from Southern Methodist University.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate, but Governor DeSantis has expressed confidence in their qualifications and believes they will make valuable contributions to the Hillsborough Community College District Board of Trustees.
