Applications Now Open for Residents Aged 60+ in North Miami.
NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - Floridant -- The North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizens' Services is pleased to announce the expansion of its free meal delivery service, a program designed to support senior residents. This service has provided daily nutritious meals, delivered directly to the homes of residents aged 60 and older. This year, the North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizens' Services is extending its reach to benefit even more senior citizens in the community.
In alignment with the recent observance of National Senior Citizen Day on August 21—a day dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the achievements and contributions of our senior population—the North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizens' Services is ramping up efforts to identify and assist more eligible residents. Applications are now being accepted, with the aim to start providing these dietitian-reviewed meals as soon as possible.

"Adequate nutrition is crucial to the well-being of our elderly community. For 50 years, we have been committed to delivering nutritious lunches directly to the homes of our beneficiaries every weekday," said Bob W. Cook, Executive Director of the North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizens' Services. "Our mission is to maximize opportunities for the elderly of the Northeast Miami-Dade County to maintain their personal independence and enhance their quality of life through a broad array of social services. This meal delivery program is a cornerstone of our efforts, touching hundreds of lives in our community every day," he added.
The home-delivered meals are carefully crafted to meet one-third of the daily nutritional requirements for adults aged 60 and older. Each meal includes a meat entrée, two vegetables, bread, butter, dessert, and milk. The monthly menu is designed by a licensed dietitian, with preparation and delivery managed by a professional catering service.
