Drawing on attachment theory and Clear Beliefs work, Heather Dempsey helps people understand their relationship patterns and build more secure, nourishing connections.

VENICE, Fla. - Floridant -- We are more connected by phone and screen than ever before, yet many people feel deeply alone. Therapeutic coach Heather Dempsey says that gap is not a personal failure. It is a human signal, and it is one we can learn to respond to with more safety, honesty, and care.

Approximately half of U.S. adults report experiencing loneliness, according to the U.S. Surgeon General's 2023 advisory, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that about 1 in 3 U.S. adults report feeling lonely.

That disconnection carries real health stakes: the Surgeon General's advisory links loneliness and social isolation to higher risks of early death (26% and 29%), heart disease (29%), and stroke (32%), while a review of 148 studies found a 50% higher likelihood of survival among people with stronger social relationships. The Harvard Study of Adult Development found relationship quality was the strongest predictor of health and happiness in later life.

Dempsey's coaching draws on attachment theory and Clear Beliefs work. Attachment theory explores how early experiences shape the way we reach for closeness, respond to distance, trust others, and repair after conflict. Clear Beliefs work helps people notice the beliefs that keep them guarded or disconnected, and practice new ways of relating that feel safer and more true.

"Life will bring its own challenges. But when our connections aren't secure, every one of those challenges feels heavier. My mission is to help people feel comfortable with themselves first, because that's where stronger relationships with everyone they care about begin," said Dempsey.

Readers can start by taking Dempsey's free attachment theory quiz at www.heatherdempsey.com/attach. From there, they can book a complimentary consultation through www.heatherdempsey.com to explore whether coaching is a good fit.

Coaching is one-to-one, offered in person in Venice, by phone, or by video, to fit each person's life and comfort. Because coaching is available virtually, it is open to people across the United States, not only in Venice.
