Affordable Homeownership Now Within Reach: Local Realtor Completes Affordable Housing Training

Coconut Creek, FL, 02/09/24 – Licensed real estate agent Wanda Collins with London Foster Realty recently completed FloridaHousing.org's Affordable Housing: What Every Real Estate Professional Should Know! training program. The program educates real estate professionals on various down payment assistance programs available to first-time homebuyers in Florida.

Through her completion of the training, Collins gained in-depth knowledge of affordable loan programs offering up to $35,000 in down payment assistance and closing cost assistance for income-eligible first-time homebuyers. The programs include State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL), and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program.

"Homeownership has always been a dream for many, but for some it remains out of reach due to lack of funds for a down payment and closing costs," said Collins. "I'm thrilled to now be able to connect first-time homebuyers in my community with resources that can make their dream of homeownership a reality."
