COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Floridant -- From college as basketball star at the University of Maryland's Terrapins to Correctional officer for 15 years for the State of Illinois Herman Veal is taking his spoken word podcast, Slater Hayes Experience, to a wider audience through a distribution deal with Altavoz by establish an imprint, Slater Hayes Production. After a chance conversation with fellow Maryland teammate Adrian Branch, who is a member of the Altavoz Board, the idea blossomed to set up a distribution situation after talking with Altavoz's Keith Shocklee to get Herman's words to fans in a digital and physical recorded versions increasing the scale and scope of his poignant and stunning spoken words.
"The prospect of working with a legend, someone I grew up watching play basketball from my university was such a thrill, and then hearing Herman's podcast - I knew worldwide digital distribution was possible and I wanted my company to help make it happen," said Nelson Jacobsen, Altavoz CEO.
A spoken word activist and social commentator, Herman uses the "Slater Hayes Experience" to explain social ills and describe the world from his point of view. His music engineer, Brandon Howard whom Herman started to collaborate with helped him launch The Slater Hayes Experience. The podcast, going strong since February 2021 has found a receptive audience with an opportunity to springboard its success to reach more people as with any distributed entertainment product.

"It's all an invitation to dispense of the chatter regarding Blacks by obtaining a perspective from a once broken but now SPIRIT FILLED and UNIQUE BLACK MAN who has something to say," said Herman.
Over the next 16 weeks Herman will be going through the Altavoz proprietary Label as a Service #LaaS process. An important part of the process will be Herman and Altavoz reaching out to his fans to find out how they want to buy his entertainment from online outlets, favorite streaming sites and music stores.
