TransSOCIAL Miami Receives Generous Donation from Local Purpose Coach & Business Owner in S. Florida

MIAMI - Floridant -- TransSOCIAL, a Miami-based, Trans-led nonprofit, recently received a very helpful and generous donation of an "all-in-one" Dell computer workstation to be used for the educational, legal and business needs of their TLGBQIA+ clients. This gift came from a Trans-Ally lead, personal development and speaker training company in Florida, Legacy Leadership Company, and its CEO - "Purpose Coach" Kevin Lee.

"When their LGBTQIA+ clients say something is IMPOSSIBLE, Mr. & Mrs. Mayfaire demonstrate a powerful awareness that… I'M POSSIBLE. Without TransSOCIAL's direct support, many LGBTQIA+ folks in our state would continue to have grossly limited representation, access, and even resources for life, covering legal, business, financial, medical, emotional, and spiritual support. TransSOCIAL is the leading Florida provider of name and gender marker change assistance to Trans folks and was created to promote unity within the Transgender community, while increasing Trans visibility and understanding in the surrounding communities. In addition, they offer LGBTQIA+ Cultural Competency and Sensitivity Training for businesses, healthcare providers, schools and universities that want to foster (DEI - Diversity/Equity/Inclusion) inclusive environments.

Ashley and Morgan Mayfaire, TransSOCIAL's founders, have assisted with almost 500 name changes and served more than 1,000 TLGBQIA+ individuals in medical referrals, legal resources, and mental health services since 2016.

The husband-and-wife team allocate financial donations between real estate costs, utilities, insurance, staffing, case management, and a large portion toward hormone replacement therapy (HRT) copay assistance. TransSOCIAL is the only organization in Florida to offer HRT copay assistance to low-income clients without a requirement to enroll in any additional programs.

TransSOCIAL continues to offer free programs, including fee assistance for legal name changes, support & social groups, and educational training both virtually and in person. Additionally, while TransSOCIAL holds a trans and nonbinary focus, its services are open to all LGBTQ-identifying people.

"It just seems like we could take care of the whole person," Ashley says. "We connect them to social support, legal processes, and also give them a community drop-in space where they could just be."
