~ The City of Jacksonville stands in solidarity with its fellow organizations to condemn all hate and biases. In the aftermath of August 26th in Jacksonville, Florida, the Together Strong Community Fund issued a statement to demonstrate their commitment to working toward concrete solutions that will heal and move the city forward.
The statement declared that hate is not welcome in Jacksonville and love is. It acknowledged that the past is troubled, the present is a work-in-progress, and the future can be bright. The promise made was to overcome racism, bigotry, and hate with purpose and determination.

It was also recognized that words have power but this time requires more than just words; it requires change in what we say, how we listen, and what we do. The leaders were asked to invest in people and programs needed to build a city that harnesses diversity and collaborates across differences.
The goal of this statement is for Jacksonville to live in a place where diversity is valued as strength and inclusion is an enduring commitment. The City of Jacksonville stands together strong with its fellow organizations to make this goal a reality.
