TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Floridant -- Tallahassee, Florida — International momentum continues to build for The Vaccine Injury Independent Research Initiative (VIIRI), since announcing its inception in late 2021. Initially created by a small team of 5 diverse and independent medical doctors, researchers, security, technology, and management consulting professionals, VIIRI recently expanded its team of Founders to seven, with the inclusion of Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Zev Zelenko (Nobel Prize nominee), luminaries in their respective fields.
The idea of VIIRI was first presented to Florida's Office of the Governor, Governor Ron DeSantis on January 28, 2022; it included a presentation, a cover letter to introduce the idea, and a detailed discussion paper signed by 14 notable signatories, including Dr. Robert Malone, in which it presented its mission:

"Our mission is to promote independent, cross-disciplinary experimental gene therapy injury research and cutting-edge treatment opportunities for all injured individuals, to hold those responsible accountable, and to establish national security safeguards to prevent future harm."
Gary L. Melling, one of VIIRI's original co-founders, also went on to say "VIIRI's mission enables stakeholders from different disciplines, organizations, and countries to collaborate for the purpose of creating a focused, ongoing review and analysis of events, science, data, manufacturing processes, investment, culpability, exposure, risk and liability regarding the science, politics and financial gain of those involved in setting, implementing and enforcing COVID-19 policies and mandates."
Recognizing VIIRI requires initial and sustainable funding to achieve its mission, based on the international feedback received so far, an approach presented to Governor DeSantis includes The State of Florida contributing the initial seed funding to operationalize VIIRI and to thereby act as a catalyst to attract and ignite financial interest from other parties, including an option for crowd funding.

Gary L. Melling also went on to say, "Every day that passes without VIIRI fully in place is another day away from relieving human suffering, our opportunity to produce successful outcomes as fast as possible will only be possible with a dedicated team, an open, flexible, collaborative and secure framework and the right sponsorship to enable the professionals to do their jobs with integrity and without influence or interference."
