MIAMI, March 6, 2025 ~ The Everglades Foundation has recently announced the appointment of Yezid Acosta as their first Director of Digital Strategy & Information Technology. This new position has been made possible by a generous grant from the Knight Foundation.

In his new role, Acosta will be responsible for managing the organization's complex data framework and overseeing a newly built IT environment. He will also work towards improving operational efficiency and implementing system solutions that will benefit the Foundation's overall effectiveness. Additionally, Acosta will play a crucial role in expanding and transforming the Foundation's communications and data management capacity.

Acosta brings with him a wealth of experience in digital strategy and information technology. His previous work includes collaborating with various partners to develop an innovative mobile point-of-sale shopping experience similar to that of Apple. This is a testament to his strong teamwork skills. He has also worked extensively with software developers and digital product designers, addressing technology and security needs for non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining The Everglades Foundation, Acosta held leadership positions in digital and IT at organizations such as NYC Kids Rise, Rising Ground, I Love Velvet, RFG Global Management, and Nestlé Nespresso. He has a proven track record of creating and managing innovative digital products, including a VIP shopping experience that integrates RFID chips and robotics.

Marta Viciedo, Miami Director at Knight Foundation, expressed her excitement about this new role at The Everglades Foundation.
