FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida (SWFL) received a financial gift of $5,000 from TD Charitable Foundation to support the MicroEnterprise Institute in Collier and Lee Counties.
Established in 2010, The SWFL MicroEnterprise Institute is a six-week program that assists aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their ideas. Industry experts in marketing, banking, legal and others relevant areas, help students gain valuable tips and insight to help with their launch.
The program has graduated 1,147 students and helped start or strengthen 660 local business, and to date 70% of those businesses are still in operation.
Through its charitable giving arm, the TD Charitable Foundation, TD Bank carries a legacy of supporting not-for-profit institutions and their important work throughout our region. Since its inception in 2002, the TD Charitable Foundation has contributed over $323 million in grant funding to not-for-profit organizations in the communities where we work, live, and do business.
