Super Bowl champion QB Joe Theismann to speak at NAMI Collier County's 2025 Hope Shin

NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- Super Bowl champion quarterback and sports commentator Joe Theismann will speak at NAMI Collier County's "Hope Shines Event: Touchdown for Mental Wellness" at 5 p.m. on March 14, 2025, at Arthrex in Naples.

Theismann, a 15-year NFL veteran, guided the Washington Redskins to consecutive Super Bowls, including a 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII in 1983 that earned him the league's Most Valuable Player award.

The Notre Dame graduate and College Football Hall of Famer will share his lessons on resilience and adaptability after a career-ending compound fracture of his leg viewed by many on "Monday Night Football."

The event's presenting sponsor is Tamiami Ford/Tamiami Hyundai/Genesis of Naples, while Gulfshore Life is the media sponsor. Event proceeds will support NAMI's Children's Mental Health Program, also known as Health Under Guided Systems (HUGS), which screens, assesses and educates children ages 2 months to 18 years old experiencing developmental, social, emotional or behavioral difficulties.

The event also will help support the Sarah Ann Life Skills & Support Program, which includes structured activities and occupational training, and other mental wellness programs offered at no cost to the community.
