NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- Sunshine Ace Hardware's spring "Round Up for the Kids" campaign raised $30,639 to support two Children's Miracle Network hospitals on Florida's west coast.
Customers were able to round up their purchases at the register to support life-changing medical care for children and teens across the region. Donations collected at Sunshine Ace stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties totaled $22,032 and support Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, while $8,607 in donations raised at stores in Manatee and Pinellas counties support Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
"Our region is blessed to have two of the country's top children's hospitals right here, but you don't get to be the best without extensive support from the community," said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. "There are few causes more important than protecting the health of future generations, and it's heartwarming to see our customers once again rise to the challenge by rounding up their purchases."

Sunshine Ace customers donated more than $81,000 to the two hospitals through a series of fundraising campaigns throughout 2021.
For the second consecutive year, Sunshine Ace's downtown Naples store ranked No. 14 nationally during the spring Round Up, while the company's Lakewood Ranch store ranked No. 17. There are 4,000 Ace Hardware stores across the U.S. and 5,500 worldwide.
A national study of Ace Hardware contributions pinpointed exactly how Children's Miracle Network was spending dollars raised during store collections: patient services (27%), advancement services (26%), charitable care (19%), equipment (12%), research (10%) and education (6%).
Golisano Children's Hospital's comprehensive pediatric services include a 24-hour pediatric emergency department, hematology-oncology unit, milk lab, Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center, and Level II and Level III NICU. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a 259-bed teaching hospital that stands at the forefront of discovery, leading innovative research to cure and prevent childhood diseases while training the next generation of pediatric experts.
