Forced to rebuild after Ian washed away their previous resort, Sean Niesel, Shalimar owner, reached out to Stevens Construction after its new beach resort was already designed, however, it was over their budget. Stevens Construction spent six months working with the client and the architect to identify ways to save money within the existing design and found $1.4 million in cost-savings in the plans and the project is now moving forward within the client's budget.
The newly designed Shalimar Beach Resort features an enhanced structural design that provides additional resistance to inclement weather as all buildings are six feet above base flood elevation ensuring building resilience.
The Stevens Construction team includes Director of Preconstruction Nick Burkel, Estimating Engineer Evan Lopes, Project Manager Mike Brooks, Superintendent Tom Porter and Project Administrator Kelsey Pojofsky. Architecture Joyce Owens is the architect of record.
