Locals, visitors are invited to dine with purpose in support of Blessings in a Backpack
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Southwest Florida's dining scene is heating up as Sizzle Dining is underway. Now through Sept. 30, residents and guests of Southwest Florida are invited to dine with purpose and enjoy Sizzle Dining savings at any of the 127 participating local restaurants in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties.
Southwest Florida residents and visitors alike can take a culinary tour of the region's favorite dining establishments throughout the month while supporting local children in need. Diners can enjoy two-course breakfast and lunch options for $19 or $29, and three-course dinners for $29, $39 or $49. Participating Sizzle Dining restaurants will donate $1 from each meal purchased to help Blessings in a Backpack. The local nonprofit provides food and nourishment to elementary students during the school year so they have healthy meals and snacks to eat every weekend. Now in its fifth year as beneficiary, Blessings in a Backpack has received over $150,000 from Sizzle Dining which has helped ensure over 30,000 hunger-free weekends for children in Southwest Florida.
"We're beyond excited to kick off this year's Sizzle Dining event and show some love to local restaurants when they need it the most during this slower season," said Guy Clarke, executive director of Sizzle Dining. "Not only are diners supporting the restaurants that keep our community fed, but they're also supporting local children in need through Blessings in a Backpack."
