MIAMI, Feb. 19, 2025 ~ Miami, FL - The highly anticipated annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes Luncheon is set to take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Jungle Island. This year's event will honor six-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Laurie Jennings with the Trish Bell Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Take a Walk in Her Shoes Luncheon, hosted by Chapman Partnership, brings together over 400 guests to recognize exceptional women who have made a lasting impact on South Florida. The event also serves as a critical fundraiser for Chapman Partnership's programs, which provide safe shelter, essential resources, and long-term stability for women and children experiencing homelessness in Miami-Dade County.
Since its inception in 2016, the Trish Bell Lifetime Achievement Award has recognized individuals in South Florida who inspire and motivate others to achieve a greater vision of hope and opportunity for those most in need. This year's recipient, Laurie Jennings, embodies the same determination, courage, introspection and faith as the award's namesake. She is known for her passionate commitment to representing the best of South Florida and using her platform to lift others professionally while improving their quality of life.

"I am incredibly honored to receive this award from such an impactful organization like Chapman Partnership," says Jennings. "Their dedication to providing a path forward for families in need with compassion and dignity is truly admirable. And to receive this award named after Trish Bell, who actively changes lives every day, is truly humbling."
Jennings' distinguished career as a journalist spans three decades and has earned her six Emmy Awards and a place in the prestigious NATAS Silver Circle. She has worked at various news stations across the country before settling in Miami where she became one of South Florida's most trusted news anchors. After 15 years leading WPLG Local 10's evening newscasts, Jennings stepped away from the anchor desk to focus on her family and launch her own media company, Laurie Jennings LIVE. Today, she is a sought-after host, moderator, and commercial spokesperson.
In addition to her successful journalism career, Jennings is also a dedicated philanthropist. She has supported various organizations such as Chapman Partnership, Voices for Children, United Way, Baptist Hospital, The American Red Cross, Holtz Children's Hospital, and Sylvester Cancer Center. Jennings and her husband are proud parents of 19-year-old identical twin boys who are both freshmen at her alma mater, Cornell University.
