Now in its fourth year, the AFGSC Capabilities Showcase—hosted in partnership with the Small Business Consulting Corporation (SBCC)—brings together forward-thinking commercial innovations and senior Air Force leaders committed to advancing the future of strategic deterrence.

At this year's event, Snowbird Technologies introduced SAMM Tech, a groundbreaking additive mobile manufacturing system engineered for point-of-need, deployable production in high-demand environments. The SAMM Tech platform integrates 3-axis plastic and metal additive manufacturing with 5-axis CNC machining, supported by advanced 3D scanning for real-time quality control and reverse engineering.

During the showcase, Jeremy Heerdink, Vice President of Business Development, presented SAMM Tech's mission-critical capabilities and operational benefits for Air Force applications. Following the presentation, Zach Wilson, Engineering Project Manager, conducted an outdoor demonstration of the 10-foot mobile unit, showcasing its versatility and precision. The system features state-of-the-art components, including the Meltio directed energy deposition print engine, Slice Engineering Mosquito Prime plastic extrusion system, and the Creaform MetraSCAN Optical 3D Scanner, offering unprecedented adaptability and autonomy in austere environments.
