NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- The Naples Airport Authority, in partnership with Gulf Coast Runners, has announced the return of the Naples Runway 5K and the exciting addition of the inaugural 10K race. This one-of-a-kind event will be held Nov. 1 and offers runners a rare opportunity to compete directly on Runway 32 of Naples Airport.
Limited to 600 participants due to FAA regulations and airport logistics, this professionally chip-timed event promises a memorable experience for runners of all levels. Participants can choose between a 5K or 10K course, and all finishers will receive a race shirt, medal and finish-line video. Age group awards will also be presented.
"This is a truly unique event that showcases the dynamic role our airport plays in the community," said Chris Rozansky, executive director of Naples Airport Authority. "With runners having the opportunity to compete on a closed runway, they'll be able to see active aircraft on the other runway. It's really a spectacular sight, and we're proud to partner with Gulf Coast Runners to bring this exciting race to life."
