"Echoes of the Western Sky" Will Be Available as Digital Download
MIAMI - Floridant -- Veteran composer and keyboardist Tom Alexander is preparing to unveil his eighth solo studio album, Echoes of the Western Sky, scheduled for release on Friday, May 30, 2025. The album will be available for digital download through major platforms including iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and others.
Alexander, known for his work scoring music for television and film, is also the co-founder of the Jazz-Rock Fusion band Earth Code, which has released two studio albums to date. His solo work blends a rich palette of influences, including jazz, cinematic, and world music, often drawing upon his Greek heritage to shape his sound.
"There are many different inspirations I draw from when I sit down at the piano or at the electronic keyboards," Alexander says. "Growing up in my dad's movie theatre business was huge for me from an early age. Hearing all the great film composers in those years has continued to inform my music. Of course there's jazz, rock, classical, and various ethnic music that's there as well."

Described by Alexander as a concept album, Echoes of the Western Sky, is based on a simple yet evocative theme — a brief personal journey through nature, punctuated by a few chance encounters.
"This new album is firstly cinematic, and also contemplative and occasionally abstract, but there's a playful, improvisatory aspect to it as well," he added. "It was fun to do. It's very self-contained and recorded over a couple years when the inspirations hit me. I also revisited a couple of favorite melodic ideas from earlier with a new approach."
Alexander has several projects on the horizon over the next 18 months. He's slated to compose the score for a film directed by his son, Peter, as well as work on a new Earth Code release. Additionally, he'll collaborate with Grammy-nominated lute player, Vasilis Kostas, on a project called Syntixi.
