Crowdfunding campaign aims to transform a vehicle into a Starfighters Academy ambassador, promoting a free mission-based cadet program that blends science-fiction storytelling with leadership, teamwork, and STEM curiosity.
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Floridant -- Vietnam veteran and independent author Bruce Goldwell is inviting supporters, businesses, and science-fiction fans to participate in a new crowdfunding campaign designed to help expand awareness of Starfighters Academy, a free online Cadet Program that blends science-fiction storytelling with leadership and STEM-inspired learning.
The campaign's goal is to fund a custom vehicle wrap that will transform Goldwell's car into a Starfighters Academy ambassador vehicle—a mobile billboard promoting the program across communities, events, and everyday travel routes.
The Academy draws inspiration from Goldwell's young adult science-fiction series Starfighters Defending Earth, where teenagers are recruited to defend the planet in a galactic conflict. The real-world program extends that imaginative universe into a mission-based learning experience for students, homeschool groups, clubs, libraries, and youth programs.

Participants progress through a series of "cadet missions," developing skills such as leadership, teamwork, confidence, communication, and curiosity about science and technology.
"This project is about turning imagination into growth," Goldwell said. "Science fiction inspired many of us to think bigger about the future. Starfighters Academy takes that inspiration and turns it into something practical for young people today."
The crowdfunding campaign invites both individuals and businesses to participate. Supporters can contribute at several levels and receive recognition through the Squadron Supporters program, including listings on the Starfighters Academy website and potential promotional opportunities.
Businesses that market products to young readers, sci-fi fans, gamers, or STEM learners are especially encouraged to participate. Limited sponsorship opportunities are available that include promotional recognition connected to the ambassador vehicle and the Starfighters Academy platform.
