NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- Sunshine Ace Hardware has announced a pair of local fishing experts, Capt. Rick Murphy and Capt. Chris Broome, as featured speakers for the ninth annual Reel in the Sunshine fishing expo on Feb. 8 in Bonita Springs.
The captains will join nearly 20 confirmed vendors who will showcase products and share expertise during the event, which is geared toward amateur and pro anglers alike. Guests at the free, family-friendly event will enjoy product giveaways and exclusive discounts on a wide range of fishing and lifestyle gear, including fishing apparel, rods, reels, lures, hats, sunglasses and other outdoor accessories.
Murphy grew up fishing the waters off Key Biscayne and the Florida Keys, honing his skills in the diverse habitats and shallow waters of Everglades National Park. He operates Murphy's Law Sportfishing and RM Media, and is a fishing guide and professional tournament angler. He is best known as host for his Emmy Award-winning TV show, Florida Insider Fishing Report, which provides live fishing reports and product information covering the state of Florida.

Broome, a Naples native, operates Clean Sweep Charters and is a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain, tournament angler and full-time fishing guide serving Naples and Marco Island. He spends more than 250 days annually on local waterways.
"Anyone who enjoys fishing or is thinking about venturing out on the water should attend Reel in the Sunshine," said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. "Our captains and vendors will give tips and offer product recommendations to make sure you have a productive day of fishing."
Participating vendors include representatives from AFTCO, Big Green Egg, Bimini Bay, Bull Bay Rods, Captains for Clean Water, Costa, DAIWA, Huk, Maui Jim, Mustad, NLBN, Penn, Quantum, Shimano, St. Croix, Traeger and Weber.
Reel in the Sunshine will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Sunshine Ace Hardware in Bonita Springs, 9100 Bonita Beach Road SE. Admission is free. Guests can participate in a charity luncheon and charity giveaway to support Captains for Clean Water, a nonprofit with a mission to restore and protect aquatic ecosystems for the use and enjoyment of all.
