Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive for the book. One reviewer writes, "Every now and then a book comes along that deeply touches your heart. Not only is How I Found Meaning (And Humor) in Widowhood, Firehouses, & Organic Vegetables a must-read for anyone who's experienced a loss, it's also an inspirational road map for how to discover renewed meaning and purpose, and how to take charge of your health through the power of Functional Medicine."
ABOUT THE BOOK
After she lost her beloved firefighter husband of thirty years to cancer, Marie began a quest to discover what her new purpose in life could possibly be. After becoming a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and changing her food preferences, she lost thirty pounds. Better yet, along with some positive lifestyle changes, she was able to come off all prescription medications, including high blood pressure, anxiety and antidepressants, even reversing her pre-diabetes. Through healing her body, mind and spirit her heart opened and found love again. She married Jeff Gordon in September of 2021.
Through this journey from grief to healing the 7 Steps to Healing After Loss was developed. These steps not only helped her shine a light in a very dark place, but also helped her after losing her Mom the same year as her late husband. Today she teaches the "7 Steps to Healing After Loss" both online and in person. These 7 Steps helped not only Marie to embrace life again, but others who hear her story are inspired and have benefited from the teachings. She is living proof these seven steps work.
