WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Floridant -- West Palm Beach, FL (July 21, 2025) – Mounts Botanical Garden will co-present with The Orchid Society of the Palm Beaches a daylong ORCHID SYMPOSIUM on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Scheduled for 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Mounts, this Journey through the Jewels of the Orchid World will include an orchid sale, two live orchid auctions, five informative presentations by orchid specialists, and so much more.
Whether you're a seasoned orchid aficionado or interested in learning more, ORCHID SYMPOSIUM 2025 promises to be a full day of inspiration, education, and memorable experiences. Participants will gain insider knowledge on everything from the secrets of specific orchid genera to cutting-edge conservation efforts, and foolproof culture techniques.
An all-access pass to attend is $45 for members of Mounts Botanical Garden and/or The Orchid Society of the Palm Beaches (proof of membership required on arrival), and $65 for nonmembers. Easy online registration is available at https://114251.blackbaudhosting.com/114251/Orchid-Conference.

- 9:00 am – Fragrance & Form: How Brassavola Nodosa Shaped Modern Hybrids, presented by fifth generation Floridian Jason Mackey, owner of Barefoot Orchids.
- 9:50 am – Brazilian Cattleya Species & Groups, presented by expert and author Francisco Miranda, owner of Miranda's Orchids.
- 10:40 am – Live Orchid Auction
- 11:10 am – Enhance Your Orchid Growing with the Proper Materials, presented by Hyla Levine, owner of Green Barn Orchid Supplies in Delray Beach.
- 12:00 pm – Lunch & Social
- 1:00 pm – The Genius Habenaria, presented by Keith & Dina Emig, who have received more than 45 American Orchid Society awards.
- 1:50 pm – Live Orchid Auction
- 2:20 pm – Encyclia Hybrids, presented by Jim Roberts, who grows orchids in three gutter-connected greenhouses with 10,000 square feet of growing space near Sarasota
