WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Floridant -- Although the timeline for Florida Alimony Reforms seems to go on forever, there are various aspects of how alimony is viewed in family court. One of the most important aspects is income. In Florida, there are various types of alimony such as bridge, the gap, rehabilitative, durational, and then permanent. What Florida did a number of years ago was they actually put in the statute, they clearly defined what is a short term, a mid length and a long term marriage. One thing is for certain is that no one wants to pay permanent lifetime alimony.
