Jewish Federation of Greater Naples to broadcast dozens of lectures, roundtable discussions
NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- Got a bug for Broadway? Eager to soak up the wisdom of world-class writers, composers, filmmakers and other artists in The City That Never Sleeps — but from the comfort of Southwest Florida?
Starting in October and running through June 2024, the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples will broadcast a series of 36 lectures, interviews and roundtable conversations from the 92nd Street Y, New York, to local audiences at the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center in Naples.
An acclaimed arts and cultural center on Manhattan's Upper East Side, the 92nd Street Y, New York is home to an array of performing arts programs, film screenings, educational programs and more.
The Naples programming kicks off today, Monday, Oct. 2, with a roundtable discussion on Yiddish cinema, followed by an Oct. 5 conversation with homemaker extraordinaire Martha Stewart.
The events are primarily scheduled on Monday and Thursday afternoons with a few major presentations planned in the evening. After each presentation, Naples participants will engage in their own thoughtful conversations.
"The 92nd Street Y, New York deservedly enjoys a worldwide reputation for its distinctive arts and cultural programming," said Jane Schiff, immediate past chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples and the organization's program committee chair. "We are thrilled to partner with global center for culture, connection and enrichment to bring the best and brightest thinkers, artists and other creatives literally right to our doorsteps here in Southwest Florida."
