FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Lee Health Foundation has awarded the Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award to Lex Roulston for his dedication and commitment to the Foundation since 1995. As one of the top donors in Lee Health Foundation history, Roulston's generosity has made a tremendous impact on the lives of many in Southwest Florida.
Each year, Lee Health Foundation honors a deserving individual with the Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award, which recognizes outstanding leadership in the advancement of quality health care for Southwest Florida residents. The award is named in honor of Frank Haskell, who along with his late wife, Betty, co-founded Barbara's Friends – Golisano Children's Hospital Cancer Fund. For more than 20 years, Frank Haskell has worked nonstop to help local children win their battles with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders.
"Mr. Roulston has supported Lee Health Foundation since 1995, and as an open-heart surgery survivor himself, he is keenly aware of the needs for enhancing cardiovascular services," said Dr. James Orr, vice chair of the Lee Health Foundation board of trustees, who presented Mr. Roulston with the award. "Over the years, he has made leading gifts to establish and enhance programs like robotic surgery, cardiac care and the building of Golisano Children's Hospital, and he certainly is a deserving and much appreciated recipient of this year's Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award."
