Inside Florida's Budget Debate:
Affordability vs. Austerity
With Esteban L. Santis, PhD., Florida Policy Institute
A dynamic speaker who has been featured in the Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NPR, Dr. Santis will discuss Florida's current fiscal overview and budgetary challenges, particularly as it impacts housing, healthcare, and education. What changes to the State's tax code are being considered? For example, if property taxes are cut or even eliminated, will you be helped or harmed?
Florida Policy Institute is an independent, non-partisan, and non-profit organization dedicated to advancing policies and budgets that improve the economic mobility and quality of life for all Floridians. Research by Dr. Santis emphasizes equity, accountability, and transparency in the State's fiscal management, bridging data and policy to inform actionable solutions.
