FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- A project from the heart, created by the Law Offices of Dennis L. Webb, P.A. (http://www.swflalawyers.com/), and called "Webb of Support" will give $1,000 a month, to be divided among four families or individuals, to help them cope with the financial challenges brought on by COVID-19. The campaign will begin July 1 and run through the end of the year and will partner with local nonprofits to serve those in need.
Each of the recipients will be given $250 in gift cards from Publix and gas stations courtesy of the law firm, which annually supports many community projects. Each month, four new applicants will be chosen to receive the gift cards.
The pandemic has left many individuals out of work and unable to pay mortgages, buy food and keep up with utility bills. Attorney and founder Dennis L. Webb hopes the firm's gesture of kindness eases some of the hardships facing families. The idea to help the community in need came from Webb's wife, Naelene Webb, who is a registered paralegal with the firm.

"This is the worst crisis on the home front in my life. It's horrible," Dennis Webb said. "My wife and I were going to Punta Gorda and there was a long line of cars, maybe 100, and suddenly I realized they were picking up food at an elementary school. You realize that people can't even afford food."
To apply for the donation, those in need can go to the law firm's website at https://www.swflalawyers.com/webb-of-support to fill out a simple application to be considered for the gift cards. Applicants will be asked basic informational questions, including how COVID-19 has impacted their lives and how the grant will benefit them.
