~ Shawna Newman Yazzie is the President and Founder of The NDN Companies, a Small Business Administration (SBA), Certified Woman Owned 8(a), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business (JSEB) firm. The NDN Companies has been JSEB certified for several years, providing a full range of environmental consulting services.

Mrs. Yazzie has been instrumental in obtaining grant funding to conduct STEM outreach within several Native communities across the United States, for which she recently received an award from the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) National. She has also focused on growing NDN's Native American consultation and cultural resource division.

The JSEB certification has granted NDN the opportunity to provide their services as a subcontractor to large businesses on multiple projects and/or contracts that they would not have been qualified for as a prime contractor. This has contributed to NDN's growth, ranking them among the top ten fastest growing companies in Northeast Florida in both 2021 and 2022, as well as being selected as one of the Best Places to Work in 2022.

NDN is committed to serving the Jacksonville and Northeast Florida community, volunteering their time and resources to local non-profits such as Rethreaded, North Florida Land Trust, Florida Governor's Council on Indian Affairs, American Red Cross, Jacksonville Beach Cleanup, SAME Summer Camps and Multiple Posts, STEM Camps, Jacksonville Museum of Science and History (MOSH), the Jacksonville Humane Society, and providing support to our local armed forces/veterans.
