Jewish Federation of Greater Naples to host touring teens on Tuesday, June 20
NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- A touring delegation of Israeli teens who sing, dance and tell stories across the U.S. as part of a longstanding cultural exchange is returning to Naples.
The Israeli Scouts, or Tzofim in Hebrew, first came to this country on a friendship tour in 1958, 10 years after the Middle Eastern country's founding. This year, a delegation of 10 teens, five boys and five girls ages 16 and 17, is returning to Southwest Florida for the first time since 2019 to perform at the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center, 4720 Pine Ridge Rd., Naples.
"Out of 60,000 Israeli Scouts across the country, just 60 are chosen each year for the Tzofim summer delegations," said Jeffrey Feld, president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples. "After the global pandemic curtailed their Friendship Caravans for several years, we're delighted to welcome back these cultural ambassadors to Southwest Florida. Their broad knowledge of Israeli history and culture, along with top-notch musical and dance talent, is sure to inspire, entertain and educate."
