In support of local organizations to make the Holidays brighter
DORAL, Fla. - Floridant -- InterContinental at Doral Miami announced today its annual season of giving back to the community supported three local organizations during November and December. The annual campaign is inspired by the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) True Hospitality for Good program and its parent company, Real Hotels and Resorts, mission to generate well-being for the communities its serves.
This year, InterContinental at Doral Miami was, for the 9th year, a drop off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The hotel and staff hosted a toy collection event in conjunction with its annual White's Art Festival. U.S. Marine Corps Reserve officers, Lance Corporal Cesar Oliver and Corporal Tanner Jackson, were on hand at the art exhibit, which rendered boxes full of toys to help bring the joy of Christmas to South Florida's less fortunate children. Established in 1947, Toys for Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps' premiere national community action program with a local touch.

InterContinental at Doral Miami was also honored to provide Thanksgiving meals for 50 City of Doral's finest who had to spend Thanksgiving away from their families. Officers were able to enjoy a buffet at the City of Doral Police Headquarters specially curated by Executive Chef William Rivera. The dinner included succulent turkey breast, traditional fixings such as gravy, sweet potato casserole, and assorted desserts.
Among the other programs the InterContinental at Doral Miami supported this season is Windsor Community's annual GIVE Initiative. Hotel guests and the local community had the opportunity to donate $10 and name a teddy bear. The donated bears were handed out to children in need through local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). GIVE A Bear was created to make a difference for children who are undergoing medical treatment during the holidays. Since its inception over a decade ago, GIVE a Bear has distributed over 10,000 teddy bears and raised $150,000.
"We know how important it is to give back and help the community in which we work and live, especially during this time of the year," said Randal Pasut, General Manager of InterContinental at Doral Miami.
