T&R Independent Books announces publication of Hurricane Ian Winds of Providence & Provision
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Floridant -- R. Frederick Riddle, author and Vice-President of T&R Independent Books, announces that publication of his book Hurricane Ian Winds of Providence & Provision is now available.
Mr. Riddle explained, "This is the Jay Sheppard family story of their faith and God's providence during this horrendous storm. The story is told in their own words which highlights the events, but also brings the reader closer to the action and their feelings at the time. But the most interesting and intriguing aspect of the story is seeing God's providence being worked out."
Hurricane Ian is considered one of the worst hurricanes in Florida history. Only Michael in 2018, Andrew in 1992, and the Labor Day 1935 hurricanes were worse. Moreover, Ian is tied with Charlie and the 1919 Keys hurricanes for the 4h strongest direct hit. Another fact is that Hurricane Charlie could fit within the eye of Hurricane Ian.
More on The Floridant
By all accounts this was a deadly, destructive storm that passed over Arcadia, Florida where the Sheppards lived. But they were prepared for the hurricane; it was the flash flood caused by the hurricane that caught them by surprise. A surprise that immediately put their home and their lives in danger.
