Homeowners Can Now Apply for Assistance for Rebuilding or Furniture.
ST PETE BEACH, Fla. - Floridant -- Hurricane Help Florida has launched the Hope Rising Recovery Program, a rebuilding initiative supported by the Florida Disaster Fund to assist homeowners in the Greater Tampa Bay area whose primary residences were damaged by 2024 Hurricanes Helene and Milton and who continue to face unmet recovery needs.
Hope Rising provides critical, storm-related assistance to help make homes safe and livable again. The program focuses on essential repairs rather than full home reconstruction and serves homeowners on a case-by-case basis based on need, eligibility, and available funding.
In January 2026, Hurricane Help Florida received grant funding through the Florida Disaster Fund, enabling the organization to expand recovery services for families who have exhausted or fallen through traditional assistance pathways such as insurance or federal programs.

Eligible assistance may include roofing repairs or replacement, electrical and plumbing work, flooring and drywall repairs, mold remediation when necessary, and limited essential furniture or household items required for habitability.
Many families are still quietly struggling long after the storms have passed, said Kristen Seeley, Founder and CEO of Hurricane Help Florida. With support from the Florida Disaster Fund, the Hope Rising program allows us to help homeowners who still need critical repairs to make their homes safe and stable again.
The Hope Rising Recovery Program serves homeowners in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and surrounding Greater Tampa Bay counties. Applicants must own and occupy the damaged property as their primary residence. All assistance is subject to eligibility review, duplication-of-benefits rules, and funding availability.
