Halfacre Construction Company wraps up Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - Floridant -- Halfacre Construction Company (https://www.halfacreconstruction.com/), a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, recently wrapped up its two-story addition work on the Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch.

Located off Lorraine Road and State Road 70 at 15205 Garnet Trail in Lakewood Ranch, Halfacre Construction originally constructed the 6,300-square-foot facility that houses a full-scale medical center – outfitted with seven exam rooms, a surgery suite, a full laboratory, a dental suite, an isolation room for infectious diseases and a spacious reception area.

The new 12,000-square-foot two-story addition to the existing clinic allows for the veterinary office to meet the demand for emergency and specialty services. Along with the addition, Halfacre also supervised site upgrades, including landscaping, irrigation, site lighting, parking and hardscape.

The hospital is equipped with the latest diagnostics to treat everything from minor issues to life-threatening diseases. The on-hand laboratory equipment includes multiple in-house blood machines, ultrasound machines, two digital x-ray machines, three intensive care oxygen units, a high flow oxygen unit, mechanical ventilation, wireless telemetry, a hyperbaric oxygen therapy and CT scanner.

The new facility also added 13 additional exam rooms, three surgical suites and a fully operational in-house animal blood bank.

The new emergency and specialty center has its own entrance and lobby, as well as its own exam rooms that are separate from the general practice. The emergency and specialty center has two criticalists on staff and plans to add multiple specialties, including ophthalmology and surgery in 2025.
