LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - Floridant -- Halfacre Construction Company (https://www.halfacreconstruction.com/), a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, recently celebrated the groundbreaking for The Dann Bouwer Community Pavilion for The Salvation Army of Manatee County (https://bradenton.salvationarmyflorida.org/brad...).
The new outdoor pavilion building will include an open-air sports court with large overhead fans, restrooms and storage facilities. The building will be used for kids' camps, church gatherings and luncheons, sports activities and more. Bouwer was a longtime supporter of The Salvation Army's mission, and he recently passed away.
"This is a special project for me as Dann Bouwer was my first employer in high school and his wife was my elementary school PE teacher," said Travis Windham, project manager for Halfacre Construction Company. "Our families have been close for years, and it is a true honor and privilege to work on this project for the community."
