FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Gulf Coast Village recently hosted a fashion show fundraiser for its residents to raise funds for its foundation. All proceeds from the event tickets sales will go to support the Gulf Coast Foundation.
The foundation helps improve the lives of seniors in our community through the provision of such things as medical equipment, additional services during end-of-life care, or seniors with unique, special needs. They also fund scholarships to help young people broaden their education and improve their future employment.
Residents from Gulf Coast Village spent the afternoon enjoying refreshments while viewing fashions borrowed from Anthony's Apparel. The six resident models were able to choose the clothes that they felt most confident in with assistance from Anthony's staff.
"This was a fun way for our residents to enjoy some fashion and an afternoon of socializing while benefiting a good cause," said Sherrie Saidon, Gulf Coast Village lifestyles coordinator. "All events at Gulf Coast Village are so important in keeping our residents socially active and it was great to host an event that was able to benefit the Gulf Coast Village Foundation."
Since 1989, the Gulf Coast Village Foundation has supported programs that meet the diverse needs of older adults. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, they provide financial aid, educational opportunities and innovative services for all who live and work at Gulf Coast Village.
