TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Kristine Zonka and reappointed Ronald Howse to the Eastern Florida State College District Board of Trustees.

Zonka, who holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, currently serves as the Administrator and Health Officer for the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County. She is also an active member of various organizations in her community, including the Space Coast Health Foundation and the Health Council of East Central Florida Board. Zonka's previous experience includes serving as a Brevard County Commissioner.

Her educational background includes an associate's degree in nursing from Keiser University and a master's degree and doctorate in nursing practice from Frontier Nursing University.

Meanwhile, Howse brings his expertise as the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Real Deal Development Group and Principal of Howseco, LLC to the board. He is also actively involved in his community, serving on both the Florida Transportation Commission and St. Johns River Water Management District. Howse holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Central Florida.

These appointments are still subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Once confirmed, Zonka and Howse will join other members on the Eastern Florida State College District Board of Trustees to oversee important decisions for the college district.
