Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Erin Huntley and reappointed Edward Pozzuoli and Linda Reiter to the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the board, which oversees the operations of the state's online public school.

Huntley, an Independent Human Resources Consultant, has a strong background in business and education. She holds a bachelor's degree in business and marketing as well as a master's degree in education from James Madison University. In addition to her professional career, Huntley is actively involved in her community, serving as the Chair of Chairs for the Republican Party of Florida and the Chair of the Orange County Republican Executive Committee. She is also a member of the Florida Association of Distributive Education Clubs of America Board of Advisors.

Pozzuoli, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tripp Scott Law Firm, brings his extensive legal knowledge to the board. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a juris doctor from the University of Miami. Pozzuoli is also heavily involved in his community, serving on various committees such as the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee and acting as Chairman for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Florida. He has also previously served on the Judicial Advisory Committee for the Southern District of Florida.

Reiter, a self-employed Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist, has dedicated her career to advocating for students with hearing impairments. She previously worked as a teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Miami-Dade County Schools. Reiter holds a bachelor's degree in individual and family studies from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of South Florida. In addition to her professional work, she is actively involved in her community as Co-Chair of the Committee for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and has previously served on the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors.

With the addition of these highly qualified individuals, the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees is well-equipped to continue providing quality education to students across the state. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences will bring valuable perspectives to the board's decision-making process.
