TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a statement released today, Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of Marcus Chambers to the Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors. Chambers, who currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools for Okaloosa County, brings over 26 years of experience in education to his new role.

Throughout his career, Chambers has received numerous accolades for his dedication and contributions to the field of education. In 1999, he was recognized as the First Year Teacher of the Year at Ruckel Middle School. He went on to receive the Okaloosa County Reading Leader of the Year Award in 2010 and the Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Achievement Award in 2013.

Aside from his professional achievements, Chambers is also actively involved in his community. He currently serves as Chairman of the Florida School Labor Relations Service Board of Directors and is a member of several educational organizations including the Florida Association of District School Superintendents, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the Okaloosa County Association of School Administrators.

It should be noted that this appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. With his extensive experience and dedication to education, Chambers is expected to make valuable contributions to the Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors.
