TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Ralph Hadley, Owen McCaul and Dr. Thomas Zavelson and the reappointment of Christine Chapman to the Board of Trustees for the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Christine Chapman
Chapman is the Owner of All American Air Conditioning and Heating. Previously, she worked at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind for 18 years as a teacher and staffing specialist. Chapman serves as President of the All-American Air Charitable Foundation and is past President of the Junior League of St. Augustine. Chapman earned her bachelor's degree in special education and her master's degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida.
Ralph Hadley
Hadley is a Shareholder at Maynard Cooper & Gale, LLP. He is a veteran of the United States Navy. Hadley is the owner of Aunt Zelma's Blueberries, a member of the Florida Bar, and was awarded the President's Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award. Hadley earned his bachelor's in economics and juris doctorate from the University of Florida.

Owen McCaul
McCaul is an Assistant State Attorney and serves as General Counsel for the State Attorney of the 2nd Judicial Circuit of Florida. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lighthouse of the Big Bend. McCaul earned his bachelor's degree from Flagler College and juris doctorate from Florida State University.
Dr. Thomas Zavelson
Dr. Zavelson is a retired Pediatrician and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida School of Medicine. He is a veteran of the United States Army Medical Corps and was a founding member with the Pediatric Associates of Gainesville. Dr. Zavelson earned his bachelor's degree and medical degree from Duke University.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
