Governor Ron DeSantis emphasized the importance of incentivizing charity and philanthropy rather than replacing it with government assistance. He stated that Hope Florida brings together various sectors such as private businesses, nonprofits and faith-based communities to serve those in need while allowing government to step back for the betterment of citizens.
First Lady Casey DeSantis added that through Hope Florida's CarePortal program, churches in all 67 counties of Florida are able to address immediate needs within their communities. She expressed gratitude towards these churches for stepping up and answering the call to serve through this platform.
Hope Florida utilizes trained professionals called "Hope Navigators" who work with individuals on a personalized path towards economic independence and prosperity. This program focuses on collaboration between different sectors such as private businesses, faith-based communities, nonprofits and government entities. By bringing together these different parts of the community, Hope Florida aims to provide maximum support and uncover new opportunities for those going through difficult times. Since its launch, nearly 30,000 Floridians have reduced or eliminated their reliance on government assistance, resulting in an estimated savings of $800 million for the state over the next 10 years. The program serves a diverse range of individuals including families, veterans, single mothers, and youth aging out of foster care.
