FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. ~ Fruitland Park, Fla. - In a press conference held today, Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the launch of a new program by the Florida Department of Education. The program aims to identify and train a Hope Florida Liaison in each school within select school districts.
These liaisons will serve as dedicated points of contact for students, parents, and staff to access resources provided by Hope Florida. They will also assist in connecting individuals with a Hope Navigator when needed. Additionally, the liaisons will work to connect local community providers, non-profits, and faith-based organizations with the Hope Line to provide support for those seeking assistance from Hope Florida.
Governor DeSantis expressed his pride in announcing this program alongside First Lady Casey DeSantis. He hopes that school districts throughout Florida will take advantage of this opportunity to help students and their families overcome obstacles by connecting them with resources from the nonprofit, private, and faith sectors.
First Lady Casey DeSantis echoed her husband's sentiments and emphasized the importance of having Hope Florida resources available in schools. She believes that this will provide every parent and child with a direct line to hope.

Hope Navigators have been assisting Florida families at the Department of Education since October 2019. Their services include helping families with children ages 3-5 who have special learning needs by connecting them with screening and evaluating services, navigating school choice programs, and providing early learning resources for their child's success.
The brainchild of First Lady Casey DeSantis, Hope Florida brings together various sectors such as the private sector, faith-based community, and nonprofits. The program utilizes Hope Navigators to guide individuals towards existing resources and a pathway to economic prosperity and self-sufficiency.
Since its inception, over 120,000 Floridians have been referred to Hope Florida, with 30,000 individuals reducing or eliminating their reliance on public assistance. This success has resulted in savings of $108 million for taxpayers in just one year and is estimated to save over $1 billion over the next decade.
The pilot program for training liaisons in select Florida school districts is a significant step towards expanding the reach of Hope Florida and providing support to those in need. With the support of Governor DeSantis, First Lady Casey DeSantis, and Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr., Hope Florida continues to make a positive impact on the lives of Floridians.
