The largest award from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund was given to Citrus County in the amount of $2.8 million. This funding will be used for infrastructure improvements at Holder Industrial Park, specifically to build a wastewater line that will serve the park. This project is crucial as it is the final piece needed to open up the 551-acre industrial park for business.

It is estimated that once completed, Holder Industrial Park will create 1,000 direct jobs and between 1,000-2,000 indirect jobs in various high-skill and high-wage occupations such as manufacturing, warehousing, and industrial sectors. The park's completion is also expected to increase Citrus County's Gross Domestic Product by $367 million annually.

The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund is an economic development program aimed at promoting public infrastructure and workforce training throughout the state. Proposals are reviewed by Florida Commerce before being chosen by Governor DeSantis to meet specific demands for workforce training or infrastructure needs in communities across the state.
