Celebrating Service, Leadership, and Community Impact in Tampa, FL
TAMPA, Fla. - Floridant -- TAMPA, FL — The GFWC Tampa Woman's Club announces two special tributes in memory of Pat Keel, a beloved member, past president of the Tampa Woman's Club, and past president of GFWC Florida. Pat, who passed away recently, leaves behind a profound legacy of leadership, service, and dedication to the mission of GFWC.
In accordance with the family's wishes, the club will make a $500 donation in Pat's honor to the GFWC Florida Headquarters Fund, an initiative she championed passionately. Pat was the visionary who founded the 1895 Society, a giving circle for the GFWC Florida Headquarters in Lakeland by "Preserving our Past and Ensuring our Future". Her commitment to preserving and strengthening the organization's home base continues to inspire members across the state.
"Pat was a changemaker in every sense of the word," said Diania Pimenta President of the GFWC Tampa Woman's Club. "Her leadership shaped our club, our state federation, and countless members who were fortunate enough to learn from her. Honoring her through these gifts ensures that her spirit of service continues to uplift others."

In addition to the memorial donation, the GFWC Tampa Woman's Club is establishing the Pat Keel "Love isn't Love until It's given away ~ by Making dreams come true through you" Memorial Scholarship, a new annual award created in recognition of Pat's presidential project "Love isn't Love until It's given away ~ by Making dreams come true thorough you", which focused on educational support through the American Cancer Society. The scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has survived cancer and is pursuing higher education, reflecting Pat's belief in resilience, empowerment, and the transformative power of learning.
The scholarship criteria and application process will be announced in the coming months, with the first award planned for the upcoming club year.
Pat believed deeply in helping others rise. This scholarship will carry forward her compassion and her commitment to education, offering hope and opportunity to someone who has overcome extraordinary challenges.
