Schult notes, "It's the world turned upside down with what is happening with Terrestrial Radio now both domestically and internationally.  All of the major radio station groups in this country  are either already in bankruptcy or about to go into it. – iHeart, Audacy, Cumulus, Salem, et al, but it isn't just the big groups doing this – any number of smaller groups are filing too. The days of paying 20+ times trailing twelve month cash flow to buy up stations is long gone.

"Now all of the chickens have come home to roost and with everything and everyone migrating to streaming audio and social media all these groups are just rearranging the chairs on the poop deck of the Titanic.  While Congress wants to save AM radio in cars in the US, countries like Norway, UK, and Japan have either already pulled the plug on AM radio in their countries and some are now even contemplating doing the same with FM frequencies as well.  Terrestrial radio, like network television, cable, periodicals and newspapers are disappearing one by one.
