St. Johns County, FL — On July 7, Florida takes center stage in the national #50DaysOfShame campaign, a coordinated nationwide effort to expose Congress' House of Representatives who quietly support harmful legislation while avoiding public accountability.
The campaign spans 50 days across the nation, with each day focused on calling out what organizers describe as "legislative cruelty and silence in the face of injustice." Each state day features three unified actions:
At the heart of the campaign is a demand to reject the proposed federal budget, dubbed the "One Big Beautiful Bill."Activists warn that the bill slashes vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP, while redirecting funds to corporate tax breaks and billionaire interests.

"Floridians are calling on their representatives to reject policies that trade the well-being of working families and vulnerable communities for corporate profits," said Jodi Midiri, founder of #50Days. "This campaign is about pulling elected officials out of the shadows. It's about visibility, accountability, and demanding a government that works for the people. Shaming may sound harsh, but it's effective, it shifts behaviors and empowers movements."
Florida's participation on Day 21 underscores the urgency of the moment and the growing resistance to decisions that undermine basic human rights. This day will highlight Districts 1,2,3,4,5,13,15,16,17,18 who are represented by Representatives: Patronis, Dunn, Commack, Bean, Rutherford, Luna, Lee, Buchanan, Steuben, Franklin. A second day is planned later in the month to focus on additional congress members.
Representatives Highlighted on Social Media and Directed Phone calls:
