PetHub appeals to pet owners to make use of safety services for their pets before it's too late
MIAMI - Floridant -- PetHub.com, the leader in modern pet identification, is reaching out to Florida pet owners urging them to utilize animal services available to keep their pets safe.
"Most cities and counties have a pet license requirement. It's not only to help fund animal shelters and pet health services, its biggest goal is to reunite animals with their families," said Tom Arnold, Founder of PetHub.com.
Counties like Miami-Dade provide pet licenses at a minimal fee that fund critical services to keep animals and the public safe. Many people do not realize that it is a requirement to license their pet to help fund these services. But, for those who do purchase a license, it more than pays for itself especially when a lost animal is reunited with its family.
"Hurricane Dorian is a good example of why licensing an animal is so critical. It pays for the physical shelter, full time staff, medical supplies, and more to help before, during and after a natural disaster," noted Arnold. "If a pet owner hasn't yet licensed their pet, now is the time to go get that license from their veterinarian or local shelter."

"Shelters are open this weekend. It's not too late to get a license or rabies tag that provides an additional level of protection for your pet to get them back to you if you become separated. Please add it to your checklist of things that must be done before Hurricane Dorian arrives," concluded Arnold.

PetHub, Inc., was started in 2010 by former Microsoft employee, Tom Arnold, to combat the issue of low RTO ("return to owner") rates for lost animals. Combining software with a physical ID tag allows anyone to help a lost animal get home again quickly, often avoiding a trip to a vet or a shelter. The company's tags can enable instant alerts, GPS location information, "Amber Alert" for pets, and more, and are now in over 250 communities in the United States as their pet license or rabies tag, with nearly 20,000 new pets are being added to the website monthly.
