~ On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Governor Ron DeSantis issued a proclamation to honor Patriot Day and remember the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. The proclamation was directed to Brian Fienemann, Director of Real Estate Management and Development, and stated that it has been 23 years since the United States experienced acts of terror that took the lives of 2,977 individuals.

The governor called for unity as the country remembers those who were lost on that day, including first responders, local law enforcement, and military personnel who showed immense bravery in responding to the attacks. In accordance with the proclamation, all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout Florida will fly the flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday.
